Prayer of vigilance.

The third manifestation of the gift of prayer is the ability to be vigilant against the cunning schemes of Satan trying to undermine and destroy the working of the Holy Spirit in us.  This gift of prayer includes the gift of discernment enabling us to recognise the traps and temptations of the Evil One and with the help of Jesus - through Mary's intercession - we shall overcome as Jesus promised:  "in the world you will have hardship, but be courageous:  I have conquered the world" (John 16:33).
