A very special form of shared prayer is reading and listening to the Word of God in Holy Scripture, and prayerful reflection on the holy texts by the family or prayer group. In this message our Blessed Mother wishes that daily Bible reading should become a regular feature of shared prayer in the homes. The Word of God is the best inspiration and aid to prayer.
Our Blessed Mother also recommends that the Bible should be kept in a place of honour in the home. Following the example of Eastern Christians, a shrine in the home with holy pictures, icons, candles, etc. could be an ideal place for the Bible. Have you such a sacred corner in your home? The family is often referred to as the "domestic church."
Children can benefit greatly if this idea finds a visible expression in the home.
