The Roman Catholic Church, especially since Pope Paul VI, has genuinely strived to improve relations with the Jews, both in terms of fellowship and theological understanding. Today, Jewish and Roman Catholic Biblical scholars, at the highest levels, meet to 'unveil' the various levels of meaning in the Sacred Texts.
In this series of talks, Tony Hickey explores the background to this co-operation between the two great Traditions, and offers insights into certain Hebrew idioms and deeper significances of Jesus' Teachings from a Rabbinical perspective. His in-depth presentation of aspects of Jesus' Jewish background is not only enlightening and informative, but provides an opportunity to better appreciate the relevance of Jesus' deep Jewish roots to Roman Catholic Tradition.
