SPIRITUAL EXCERCISES & RSV BIBLE EXTRACTS - WEEK 124
STARTS THURSDAY 10th JUNE 2010
TRANSFORMATION IS GOD’S GIFT THROUGH MARY
(B)THE HALL-MARKS OF A LIFE TRANSFORMED THROUGH MARY’S LOVE
Weekly message No. 119 (5th June 1986).
Being a reflection of Jesus, the Light of the world.
“Dear children! Today I am calling on you to decide whether or not you wish to live the messages which I am giving you. I wish you to be active in living and spreading the messages. Especially, dear children, I wish that you all be the reflection of Jesus, which will enlighten this unfaithful world walking in darkness. I wish all of you to be the light for everyone and that you give witness in the light. Dear children, you are not called to the darkness, but you are called to the light. Therefore, live the light with your own life. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
PRACTICAL:
This week try to be a person who can bring light, joy, consolation or any help to others.
Thursday: Do not judge.
Matthew 7:1-5.
1Judge not, that you be not judged. 2For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
Thursday: Cf. Romans 2:1-2.
Chapter 2
1Therefore you have no excuse, O man, whoever you are, when you judge another; for in passing judgment upon him you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things. 2We know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who do such things.
Friday: “You are the light of the world.”
Matthew 5:14-16.
14You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. 15Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Saturday: We are like mirrors reflecting the glory of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18.
18And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Saturday: Cf. Exodus 34:29-35.
29When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tables of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. 30And when Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. 31But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them. 32And afterward all the people of Israel came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. 33And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face; 34but whenever Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, 35the people of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone; and Moses would put the veil upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
Sunday: Destined to be moulded to the pattern of Jesus.
Romans 8:29-30.
29For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren. 30And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.
Sunday: Cf. Galatians 4:19.
19My little children, with whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you!
SPIRITUAL EXCERCISES & RSV BIBLE EXTRACTS - WEEK 124-2
STARTS THURSDAY 10th JUNE 2010
Monday: “You are light in the Lord, behave as children of light.”
Ephesians 5:8-9.
8For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true).
Tuesday: Following Jesus is like walking in the light.
John 8:12.
12Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Tuesday: Cf. 1 John 1:5-7.
5This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; 7but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Wednesday: Jesus is our light who transforms us into children of light.
John 12:35-36.
35Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. 36While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said this, he departed and hid himself from
