THE GLORY OF ‘MARIAN HOLINESS OF LIFE’
III. SHARING GOD’S GLORY WITH OUR BLESSED LADY
Weekly message No. 149 (1st January 1987).
Walking in the path of holiness by living the messages of Our Lady.
“Dear children! Today I wish to call on all of you that in the New Year you live the messages which I am giving you. Dear children, you know that for your sake I have remained a long time so I might teach you how to make progress on the way of holiness. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing and live the messages which I am giving you for I am doing it with great love toward God and toward you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
PRACTICAL:
A New Year’s resolution: living by the messages of Our Lady in all seriousness and fidelity,
Thursday: Being a true disciple by doing God’s will.
Matthew 7:21-23.
21“Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’”
Friday: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger announcing peace …”
Isaiah 52:7-10.
7How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” 8Hark, your watchmen lift up their voice, together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the LORD to Zion. 9Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem; for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. 10The LORD has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Friday: Cf. Romans 10:14-15.
14But how are men to call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? 15And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!”
Saturday: The Lord instructs us and teaches us the way we should go.
Psalm 32 (3l):8.
8I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Saturday: Cf. John 6:45.
45It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Every one who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me.
Sunday: Listening to the words of Wisdom (Our Lady, ‘Seat of Wisdom.’)
Proverbs 4:10-11.
10Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many. 11I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness.
Sunday: Cf. Proverbs 3:1-2.
1My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; 2for length of days and years of life and abundant welfare will they give you.
Monday: The true disciple who listens to the Lord and acts accordingly.
Luke 6:46-49.
46“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? 47Every one who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48he is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid the foundation upon rock; and when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49But he who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”
Tuesday: Do what the Word tells you.
James 1:22-25.
22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who observes his natural face in a mirror; 24for he observes himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25But he who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer that forgets but a doer that acts, he shall be blessed in his doing.
Tuesday: Cf. John 2:5.
5His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Tuesday: Cf. Luke 8:21.
21But he said to them, “My mother and my brethren are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
Wednesday: Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.
Luke 11:27-28.
27As he said this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!” 28But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
