Open your hearts to God.
“Dear children! Today I wish to tell you to open your hearts to God like the spring flowers which crave for the sun. I am your Mother and I always want you to be closer to the Father and that He will always give abundant gifts to your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
In this messge our Blessed Mother wishes to remind us of a specially important task and attitude in our 'spiritual warfare' against the Evil One: unwavering trust in God's power over the power of evil, and childlike trust in our loving Mother who will do everything in her power to make us happy and protected. We are expressing our trust in God's power if we open our hearts to Him like flowers in the spring, to receive all the warmth, strength and fruitfulness of a life of love.
Once again, our Blessed Mother uses the analogy of the flower because flowers receive their aroma and beauty through the effects of the sun to which they open themselves like the sun-flower for instance. Similarly, we can live a life of love, joy and peace only, if our hearts are open to receive the healing and blessing rays of Divine Love.
1st day: Matthew 7:21-23. (Thursday)
The true disciple.
Matthew 7:21-23.
21 Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’
2nd day: 2 Thessalonians 3:3-5. (Friday)
St. Paul prays that our hearts may turn towards the love of God who guards us from the Evil One. Cf. 1 John 5:3-4.
2 Thessalonians 3:3-5.
3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from evil. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things which we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
Cf. 1 John 5:3-4.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Romans 5:1-5.
1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.
Romans 8:14-17.
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of son ship. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Cf. Galatians 4:6-7.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So through God you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then an heir.
5th day: 2 Corinthians 9:7-9. (Monday)
We should give cheerfully since God gave to us generously.
2 Corinthians 9:7-9.
7 Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written, “He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever.”
6th day: Revelation 3:20-22. (Tuesday)
Jesus calls us to open the door of our hearts to him. With Jesus we shall overcome.
Revelation 3:20-22.
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"
7th day: Song of Songs 2:10-13. (Wednesday)
Opening ourselves to the voice of the Divine Lover as nature opens itself to the call of the season.
Song of Songs 2:10-13.
10 My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away; 11 for lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. 12 The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.”
SUGGESTION
Look out for the signs of awakening nature; take some early flowers to church as a sign of your opening of self to God.
