Our Lady’s joy over ‘open hearts.’
“Dear children! Today I thank you for every opening of your hearts. Joy overtakes me for every heart that is opened to God especially from the parish. Rejoice with me! Pray all the prayers for the opening of sinful hearts. I desire that. God desires that through me.
Thank you for having responded to my call.”
1st Day: Thursday
Almsgiving in secret.
Matthew 6:1-4.
1 Beware of practicing your piety before men in order to be seen by them; for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2 Thus, when you give alms, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
2nd Day: Friday
Our Lady opened her heart to God’s plan.
Luke 1:38
And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Cf. Matthew 12:50
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother.
3rd Day: Saturday
Jesus is knocking at the door of our heart.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Cf. Song of Songs 5:2
I slept, but my heart was awake. Hark! my beloved is knocking. “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one; for my head is wet with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.”
4th Day: Sunday
God has a plan for all of us and we must seek him to reveal his plan to us.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
Cf. Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things which you have not known.
5th Day: Monday
Let us open our hearts to God.
Lamentations 3:40-41
Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the LORD! Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.
Cf. Psalm 119:18
The LORD has chastened me sorely, but he has not given me over to death.
Cf. Psalm 131 - A Song of Ascents
O LORD, my heart is not lifted up, my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvellous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a child quieted at its mother’s breast; like a child that is quieted is my soul. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.
6th Day: Tuesday
The Spirit of God within us will help us to comprehend what God has in store for us.
1 Corinthians 2:9-12
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him,” God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For what person knows a man's thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.
7th Day: Wednesday
Joy in the Lord is a sign of his peace in us.
Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
