Thursday: Priority of God’s Kingdom
Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.
Friday: Jesus prays to the Father for us that we may be consecrated by means of the truth as he consecrated himself
John 17:17-19.
17Sanctify them in the truth; thy word is truth. 18As thou didst send me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be consecrated in truth.
Saturday: Through obedience to the truth we are purified, changed (reborn), made able to love
1 Peter 1:22-23
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart. You have been born anew, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.
Cf.1 Peter 1:14-15.
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct.
Sunday: Knowing the truth sets us free. i.e. Jesus the Truth sets us free.
John 8:31-36.
Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham, and have never been in bondage to any one. How is it that you say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, every one who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not continue in the house for ever; the son continues for ever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”
Cf. John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.”
Monday: Samuel being consecrated to the Lord by Hannah
1 Samuel 1:27-28
For this child I prayed; and the LORD has granted me my petition which I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives, he is lent to the LORD. And they worshipped the LORD there.
Tuesday: Consecration: being set free from sin and bound to the service of God
Romans 6:19b
I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once yielded your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for sanctification.
Romans 6:22
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life.
Wednesday: The food of Jesus is to do the Father’s will
John 4:34
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.”
Cf. John 6:38
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
