DAILY SPIRITUAL EXERCISES STARTING 17 APRIL 2014

1st day: Matthew 5:43-48. (Thursday)
Love of neighbour.

2nd day: Psalm 69:19-21. (Friday)
The suffering Servant of God is looking for sympathy and consolers. Cf. John 16:32; 19:28-30.

3rd day: Job 6:1-14. (Saturday)
Suffering of Job and his loneliness.

4th day: Matthew 26:36-46. (Sunday)
No consolation for Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane.

5th day: Lamentations 1:1-2, 12. (Monday)
Mary, the daughter of Jerusalem is without consolation.

6th day: Luke 21:36. (Tuesday)
Stay awake and pray. Cf. Ephesians 6:18. Unceasing prayer.

7th day: Romans 8:26-27. (Wednesday)
The Holy Spirit prays in us. Cf. Romans 8:14-17.
